Late, but worth the wait...Father's Day Post

After a harrowing few days of my camera being lost, I finally found it in our swimming bag, along with my car keys. (smack on the head for Laura) Anyway, I thought better nate than lever (ask dad for the extremely dry explenation of that.) so here's the father's day picture of Dad and (almost) all the grandkids (Maddie was the only one missing). From Left to Right: Kaylee, Crew, Cohen, Grandpa holding Gabby and Leila, Elyza, Cash, and Cooper.

After all that hassle of losing the camera and finding it again, I looked at the pictures only to smack myself on the head for a second time, realizing that I didn't take any pictures of Jesse and the kids! Argh. I did, however, manage to get him a present ON the actual day. I surprised him with a camp-chef stove to use dually as our camping stove and a barbeque on our back porch (Jesse doesn't know it yet but I selfishly am going to use it for bottling too). Anyway, enjoy the picture, it's the only one where you could see everybodies faces and Dad was looking up. Happy Grand-Father's Day Dad!

Poor Cow

So this Cow was in the field just south of my development, I have no idea how he got this lawn chair on his neck. We pulled over to see if Jesse might be able to hop the fence and pull it off of the poor guy, but he ran away back into his herd of mean looking cows that started mooing at us. I felt bad for him... but still... a cow with a chair on his head?!!! You don't see that everyday!

Jesse

Absence makes the heart grow fonder... a true statement (sadly). Jesse's been in Logan for a football camp for 4 days and he won't be home till 3 a.m. Friday morning. I'm doing better than the week he was gone to Guatemala, but I still miss talking and laughing with him... and snuggling :). There's a part in the book I've been reading (The Four Loves, by C.S. Lewis) that talks about how you can never really know yourself until you truly love someone else. That has been so true for me, I thought I knew myself pretty well (thanks to a couple gals in High School who always made me spill my guts!) until I met Jesse and I learned how selfish I am naturally, and how giving he is. I think the more good I see in him, the more bad I see in me. He is so strong where I am weak, and he doesn't ever begrudge me for it. He lifts me in so many ways and I find that I am only half of a person without him, especially in parenting! I would like to rephrase the previous thought and say that you never really know yourself until you PARENT with someone else! You find so much out about each other, but mostly yourself! I've learned about my motivations, what ticks me off, and how patient I can really be. Anyway, I digress.... I just miss Jesse, I usually shove all my deep thoughts off on him. My blog will have to suffice until he returns. Come home Jesse!
