Dia de la Madre (for those of you who don't "habla espanol" it's Mothers day)

Here's how the conversation went:
Me: Hey Babe, I think we should invite my mom and your mom over for mother's day so that they don't have to cook... I think it would be nice.
Jesse: (thinks for a minute) Okay but I'll do the cooking... I don't want you to have to cook for everybody.
Me: oh wow, that'd be really nice... are you sure? (thinking to myself: aaaaaaaaaahh... he's going to try to COOK?!!! In MY KITCHEN?!!!)
Jesse: Yeah, I'll get my dad and your dad to help me... it'll be fun, maybe we'll barbeque.
Me: We don't have a barbeque.
Jesse: oh, we'll figure something out.
Me being awesome: Hey, maybe you could order bowtie chicken cesar salad from pasta factory, and then just have garlic bread or something with it.
Jesse: Yeah, but I want to cook something... you know? I want to do something for you guys.
Me: (thinking to myself: Yes but, um... just don't... maybe you could...shoot. How do I get out of this?) okay babe... that'd be great.

I solved this delemma by waiting until Saturday to say anything about the dinner and then asking him if he'd planned what he wanted to cook... he looked thoughtful for a minute and then said... "me and my dad will go to the store and just pick stuff out" (yeah, great way to plan a dinner.... NOT!)
Me: I'll just call pasta factory and order that pasta for you... you can just pick it up.
Jesse: (face lighting up) Hey! Good idea!
Good idea indeed. We decided to use our delicate china for the first time, we set the table with white linen and cloth napkins... the boys sort of had their own outcast table with folded chairs and paper plates. I suppose we can make up for that on Father's day. However, I think a treat for them would be the paper plates and folded chairs!
This conversation does not, however, display the effort and love Jesse put into this dinner. He invited both his grandma's and his 2 sisters, and also our neighbors Kelsi and Ryan. He was serving a total of 8 woman! He called all of their spouses and asked them to come in their suits to serve us... which they did and they all looked fabulous. He even asked them all to prepare something to say about their wives and motherhood. They did that part before we ate and there was not a dry eye in the room... they all did a fantastic job! I was about to reign in my dad though when he was supposed to be talking about MY mom, and he started in on what a good mom HIS mom was (that'll make a lady feel special).... but he brought it back around... good job dad.
Great job Jesse... you guys were so sweet. Thank you :)
